The Country Food Trust is fighting the Corona Virus
We are all experiencing the effects of the Corona Virus at the moment. Luckily, many of us have the chance to stay at home with our families. However, for many this isn’t possible. The Country Food Trust has been set up to feed the less fortunate with the game meat harvested during the shooting season. Since their inception, they’ve supported almost 2000 charities and made over 600,000 meal packets for the vulnerable members of society.
In this tricky period of the time, The Country Food Trust has managed to secure the supply to make an additional 100,000 meals. The aim is to help those people struggling the most. They are now looking inwards to our community to try and help raise funds to make this possible. They really are looking for whatever you able to donate to help support them help those struggling the most.
You can read the appeal from The Country Food Trust below.
“Because of the coronavirus pandemic a growing number of us are for the first time in our lives experiencing the fear of food insecurity. This is a fear that is constantly present for all of the people that we feed throughout the UK, not because there is no food, but because they are unable to afford it.
The Country Food Trust was set up to provide food to people in need and has provided nearly 700,000 meals since inception. Today we have managed to secure the meat and production time this April to produce an additional 100,000 pouches of our pheasant curry and casserole. We have also sourced a variety of other frozen meats which we can deliver directly to the charities we support. This will help them cope with the chronic food shortages they are experiencing at the moment.”
