How diverse are UK’s moors

Home » News » How diverse are UK’s moors

A brilliant video from the Pace Brothers. Set in the moors of Angus Glens they follow the work of the German Game Conservancy as they investigate animal population groups. From tracking grouse and curlew density to volume of natural predators. As you’ll see in the video its stated that, “you can have this biodiversity only when you have the ecologically correct form of management in an area”. Its noted that the levels of Biodiversity were unlike anywhere in mainland in Europe which surprised them after reading the negative press about grouse moors. The outcome and the impact of the results will have lasting impact. Its made clear that without this level of land and predator management that biodiversity won’t be possible. To do nothing would be counter productive to achieving real diversity of species with the effect felt in as little as 3 years.
